Cruise Lake Ziway’s reed beds to observe thousands of Great White Pelicans, yellow-billed storks, and African fish eagles. Unwind along the copper-tinted, golden sandy beaches of Lake Langano, the only freshwater lake in Ethiopia completely free of bilharzia (schistosomiasis) and safe for swimming.
Explore Abijatta-Shalla Lakes National Park, where Lake Shalla—Ethiopia’s deepest lake (266m)—is enclosed within towering crater walls with steaming geothermal sulfur springs, while Lake Abijatta’s shallow soda waters host feeding flocks of Greater and Lesser Flamingos.
